Built Through Real World Leadership

Meet the Founder

Jim Britt is a former U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer and Navy Deep Sea Diver. He works as a senior living executive, entrepreneur, and lifelong student of leadership and personal performance.

For more than 40 years, he has led people in military operations, business, hospitality, sales, and executive leadership. Along the way, he discovered that lasting success isn't built through occasional inspiration—it's built through consistent daily habits.

For decades, Jim has studied many of the world's most respected authors, coaches, military leaders, and business thinkers, applying their principles in real life before sharing them with others.

Forward Performance Group brings those lessons together in one simple daily habit: helping people invest five intentional minutes in themselves every morning.

Why I Started Forward Performance Group

I didn't start Forward Performance Group because I watched a great leadership video.

I started it because, years ago, someone encouraged me to listen to teaching tapes and read books like, The Magic of Thinking Big.

By then, I'd already completed two of the U.S. Navy's most demanding diving schools and earned my qualifications as a Navy Deep Sea Diver. Those experiences taught me discipline, resilience, and what was possible when I refused to quit.

But the books and recordings taught me something different.

They showed me that the way we think shapes the way we live—and that intentionally feeding our minds better ideas can change the direction of our lives.

That realization stayed with me.

I kept reading.

I kept listening.

I kept learning.

Those ideas influenced how I led in the military, built businesses, developed leaders, and eventually led senior living communities.

Over time, one truth kept proving itself:

To grow, we must continue to invest in ourselves. To become the best version of ourselves, we have to keep investing in ourselves. Even when life’s challenges happen, don’t give up, keep doing the work.

That's why Forward Performance Group exists.

To help people build the habit of becoming a little better every single day.

Five minutes is the spark. The habit is the transformation.

I believe five minutes a day can be the start of something that significantly impacts your life.

Five intentional minutes, repeated day after day, introducing and reaffirming proven principles, can impact our lives and the people around us. Once that habit takes hold, people begin reading books, listening to podcasts, seeking mentors, asking better questions, becoming better leaders, better parents, better teammates, and better human beings…and who doesn’t need that?

The five minutes isn't the destination.

It's the doorway.
